Sunday Shopping Spree

I had this huge goal of clearing out my storage unit today.  Somehow that plan flew straight out the window as soon as I woke up.  Instead I headed to the mall to stock up on some very UNnecessary beauty products and shoes.

First stop was Sephora (click the links to go straight to the product on Sephora.com):
I've read about this "magical" mask on several blogs, and I finally decided to take the plunge and try it for myself.  While I wouldn't use the word magical, I will say it is MIRACULOUS!  After just one use my skin is softer than it's ever been, and even without make-up looks vibrant and healthy.  Run, do not walk to Sephora and buy this ASAP!
Based on the rave reviews for the black mask I thought I would try another product from this line.  The sales girl at Sephora recommended this B.B. cream w/ SPF.  Apparently "BB" stands for blemish balm, and has been used by women in Asia for years to maintain their porcelain complexion.  Seeing as I'm half Asian I felt it was my duty to try it out.  I haven't used it on my face yet, but from what I saw on my hand it is very similar to a tinted moisturizer, but more hydrating than greasy.  After rubbing it on the back of my hand looked moisturized and luminous.  If it can do that to just my hand I can't wait to see what it does for my face.
I have been using Make Up Forever's HD Foundation for over a year now.  It provides medium coverage that's perfect for nights out, and can be layered to create a fuller coverage look for when you need it.  I don't know what they put in this stuff, but it makes my skin look absolutely flawless both in person and in pictures.
I am constantly looking for the perfect eyeliner.  I am extremely susceptible to the dreaded raccoon eye by the time 5 o'clock rolls around.  The sales lady suggested I try waterproof eyeliner, specifically the Make Up Forever Aqua Eyes Liner.  Just to give you an idea- I put this liner on my hand (top line) at 11:30am.  It's now 8:20pm and this is what it looks like after several hand washes and cleaning a sink full of dirty dishes...
Just below it I drew a line of Sephora Collection Kohl Waterproof Eyeliner
As you can see it is lasting just as long as the Aqua Eyes.  I'll have to test them both out officially, and I'll let you know how they do.

As per usual I parked by Bloomingdale's, and on my way back out to my car I was wooed by the sale racks in the shoe department...CURSE YOU SALE RACKS!!!

Enzo Angilioni Mezzo- So freaking cute with the bow.  These will be great for summer work days, and will definitely be useful come wedding season.
Stuart Weitzman Alex- I've been stalking these since I saw them on Jennifer Aniston last year in khaki.  Of course these weren't on sale, but I couldn't help myself once they were on my feet.  My favorite part...the toe area is already cushioned!  Super comfs!!!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Glitter & Gold

On May 28th one of my childhood heroes makes a triumphant return to television
That's right children of the 80's, the ultimate rock star of our generation is coming back via The Hub.

One of the Jem songs was titled Glitter & Gold, so in honor of the re-release I present glitter AND gold:

Weekend Roundup

This was an interesting weekend to say the least.  You all know how I spent my Sunday- getting over a STOOOPID boy.  But the weekend wasn't a total bust...

Friday night Miss Liss and I stumbled upon a random carnival in the parking lot of the mall.  Best $20 I spent all week:
The last time I was on Gravitron was in 1993, and I'm pretty sure it ended in barf.  NEVER.AGAIN.
Being the good date I am, I won Lissy a new goldfish...I'm pretty sure he wound up as dinner for her other fish Jaws and Barnaby Jones.
Miss Liss won me a bulldog!
And for my triumphant win at the waterballoon race I chose the giant blue penguin and a bonus funnel cake :)

Saturday night was CV's engagement party.
I finally got to wear the Marks & Spencer top I bought in Manila...super cute with laser cut details on the sleeves...and my white jeans which I'm thrilled to say are waaay to big for me now.

Saturday morning Miss Liss and I hit up the mall, not to be confused with THE mall aka Short Hills Mall, to look for a last minute outfit for the engagement party.  I didn't find anything for the party, but I came out with these cuties from Bakers (who knew???)
Sure they make me 6 feet tall, but I don't care!

I also took the plunge at H&M on some of the things I've been stalking:

You can clearly tell I was shopping with Miss Liss from the nautical stripe-yness of my purchases.  Is it summer yet!?!?!

BLECH!

That one word pretty much sums up my Sunday.  After a fun weekend, the events of late last night pretty much put a damper on all the joy I was experiencing.  Long story short, the guy I liked (yes, past tense) turned out to be something other than what I thought and clearly doesn't know me or care about me at all, and it's heartbreaking. I've allotted today as my obligatory sulk day, and tomorrow I will move on...I hope.

Class of '95 (Yeah, That Old!)

There is so much to catch up on from the last time I posted that I don't know where to begin.

Last night Lindz and I took a trip across the river to NYC (it's a whopping 10 miles away from my apartment) to see our childhood friend and carpool buddy Leslie Kritzer perform at Joe's Pub.  She wrote an autobiographical cabaret show about our senior year of high school called "Beautiful Disaster."  To steal a line from Bethenny, "We laughed, we cried, it was better than Cats!"  I am so lucky to be able to call this amazing, talented, gorgeous woman my friend for 30 years.  That's right... 30 YEARS!  Here's the embarrassing proof:

Me, Lindz, and Leslie walking to school...hello 80's!

Now on to the Royal Wedding because I have been dying to discuss.  I'm sure you're all tired of hearing about how gorgeous Kate's dress was (it REALLY was) and how handsome Prince William looked (just like Prince Charming), and what a HOT GINGE Prince Harry is (yummm-o), but let's talk about the real stars of the event...HATS!  Milliner to the stars, Philip Treacy, must not have slept from the time the engagement was announced until the morning of the nuptials.  36 of his creations were seen on guests, from Camilla to Victoria Beckham.  So many hats in every shape and size.  Here are some of the highlights:

David & Victoria Beckham: Spectacular as always!  I especially love her custom Christian Louboutin Daffodil pumps which match her dress from her own A/W 2011 collection.  David opted to carry his top hat so as not to mess his perfect coif...and it was purrrrfect :)
Carol Middleton: I didn't love the coatdress which looked off the rack, and the color was a total snoozefest.  BUT the hat was perfection!

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall: What a loooong way she's come!

And of course the ULTIMATE topper...
Kate (something borrowed) Catier tiara.  GORGE!!!

Of course they can't all be winners:

Princesses Beatrice & Eugenie: UGH! What in the world were they thinking putting these monstrosities on their heads?  At least Bea's dress was lovely; Eugenie looked like a stuffed peacock.

Tara Palmer Tomkinson (London socialite): This woman had her nose rebuilt for the occasion after one too many sniffs but with not such success, so why in the world would she wear a hat that points directly at her crooked schnoz?

Zara Philips: Do you get HBO with that thing?
