So Stinkin Cute!

Yesterday was my godson's 6th birthday party.  He and his little sister are just about the cutest kids I've ever seen in my entire life...and that's saying a lot because those who know me for realz know that I am *NOT* a kid person.

It was a beautiful day yesterday.  The humidity finally broke so I was able to wear my favorite summer sweater:
Old Navy tank & caridgan, Target shorts, TJ Maxx sandals, and LV Damier Azur Speedy 35

My cousin is the ultimate Martha Stewart hostess (i.e. handmade cupcakes, elaborate table settings), but this time she claimed she was going to keep it casual.  Her casual is still over the top:
Custom "6" bagel!  Seriously!?!
I wasn't there 5 minutes and the evidence of the cheese puff massacre was already on my finger.
He is just the sweetest boy ever!  He's waiting for the guests to arrive so HE can open the door to welcome them to his party.
"Happy burfday Nich-o-las!" His sister is so freaking adorable...her daddy's gonna be in BIGGG trouble when she gets older.

CAKE!!!  Sweet Girl had to get a bob to cover up the mess her big bro made when he thought she needed her bangs trimmed...here's the crime scene my cousin found when she got home from work:
Then we had some fun with the Birthday Boy
BLUE STEEL
My other cousin brought me this little gem- HELLO KITTY DUCT TAPE!  The possibilities are endless.

Now I'm getting ready for Shark Week.  Miss Liss already started preparing a few weeks ago:

DETOX

I can't believe it's the end of July already!  Wedding season is about to kick in full speed ahead, and that means saying goodbye to my hard earned money.  I have Hot Pants Pallay's bachelorette party on Aug 12th and her wedding down the shore the following Friday...2 party weekend + 2 hotel stays at the beach during the summer = $$$$.

This anticipated outflow of funds has prompted me to make an executive decision- I will NOT be shopping (food & cocktails excluded) until September 1st, and maybe even past that.  It will be painful, and I'm expecting severe withdrawal symptoms.  Luckily, and unbeknownst to me, Miss Liss made a similar pact this weekend which means that we will be able to support each other during this trying time.  We'll see how this goes since Miss Liss and I are each other's worst influences when it comes to shopping.

Since I made the decision to quit cold turkey yesterday morning I didn't really get in a good last shopping fix.  So I'll have to rely on last week's purchases to ease the urges:

1) a snazzy new wallet to hold all my unspent dinero
2) Reefs to replace my 10 year old pair that died this past weekend :(
3) white jeans (NOTE: these jeans are a size that I haven't been since the 8th grade...thank you WW!)
4) beach friendly clutch
5) tie-dyed top similar to this one, but the base color is black (this miiiight get returned)
6) leopard print tunic sweater...obviously I can't wait for fall to get here!

BABY BECKS!!!

Yesterday morning at 7:55am Los Angeles time my fashion hero (Victoria Beckham in case you didn't know) gave birth to her long awaited baby girl-  Harper Seven Beckham!  I love the ode to Daddy David's England & ManU number as her middle name.  Thank GOD they didn't go the weirdo celebrity route and make it her first name.  Although Brooklyn, Romeo & Cruz are hardly traditional they are tame by Hollywood standards: Pilot Inspektor, Apple, Sailor, Jermajesty!

This pic of VB posted by DB on his FB wall (see what I did there!) pretty much sums up, yet again, why Victoria Beckham will always be my #1
I mean SERIOUSLY!?!  So freaking chic and less than a week before her baby was born.

In related news, I will be present when David and the LA Galaxy come to NJ to play the Red Bulls in August!!!!!!!  I've already prepped Miss Liss to call my dad to bail me out of jail after I get arrested for rushing the field and attacking DB.  I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!

May The 4th Be With You

A very happy (and belated) July 4th to everyone.  This weekend was busy, busy, busy but also FUN, FUN, FUN!!!

Saturday was the wedding of Kitty's sister, Little Quinn.  Little Quinn is 9 years younger than us and used to torture us when we were in middle school and high school as little sisters are want to do.  That's why it was so much harder to cope with the fact that we were all at her wedding.  What should have been a 40 minute drive turned into 2 hours thanks to holiday traffic headed to the Poconos...grrrr road rage was on full tilt.

The BIGGEST cross I've ever seen

I have no idea who this woman was but she was having a full on picnic in the church, crunching on chips during the ceremony.
The bridal party...bride is a HUGE fan of pink

This adorable photo of me and Dr. Chuck (my friend's fiance) is actually taken to showcase the amazing mullet standing behind us to the left.
Sunday Jimmy came over and did some picture / mirror hanging.  I also put up my new monogram detail I ordered from Etsy...I'm in love!

This last picture is actually a satellite view of New York and New Jersey...closer up
And finally, my living room area is complete...except for the tv and a few extra decor items.
I'm so thrilled I bought the 2nd chair from Target, and the crown throw pillows were a great Home Goods find!
